Dear New York Focus readers,
The next mayor of New York City will have their hands full. To tackle the key issues facing the city — like the affordability crisis driving an exodus of families — they’ll have to field attacks from an antagonistic federal government and to wheedle the state government in Albany.
New York Focus and Hell Gate, a worker-owned publication covering NYC news and culture, have teamed up to present an evening at the Public Theater with the top Democratic mayoral candidates ahead of the June 24 primary election. And we plan to make it interesting.
For 90 minutes on May 15, the candidates will present their vision for running the city and answer tough questions from our moderators — and the public. Audience members will have 30 minutes to ask questions, and hang around with us for the evening afterwards. If you live upstate, we promise it’ll be worth a trip down to the city — though there will also be a livestream available.
We have 70 tickets reserved for our subscribers. If you’d like to attend free of charge, click this link and enter the code NYFOCUS25.
See you on May 15 at 8pm at the Public Theater,
